It is GORGEOUS outside today! It has been great getting the residents outside this week as the weather has suddenly become much nicer. What beautiful flowers we have out front!

Sadly, dementia and Alzheimer's Disease does not discriminate and can impact any family. Our thoughts are with Jack Hanna and his family during this difficult time as they navigate their future together.

A few days ago we handed out our freshly decorated Christmas cutouts and cocoa! Is there anything that warms you up more?!

We regret to inform our resident families and friends that we've made the difficult decision to cancel the Christmas Car Parade. Please know that this decision was not easy to make, and is being done out of an abundance of caution and the resident's (and your) safety in mind. The health and wellbeing of our residents is always our top priority. That said, we are excited to let you know we have something else planned for you! There's nothing you have to do - just watch your ma...il for a special surprise the week of Christmas. We will be gifting each resident with presents that Santa will drop off for Christmas! Gifts, treats and floral arrangements can always be dropped off for your loved one at our front desk or mailed to them and will be delivered promptly. We are grateful for your patience, support and understanding during these very difficult times. Please know we're doing everything we safely can to ensure our residents feel loved and supported during the holidays.

Resident group cookie decorating isn’t possible right now, but it doesn’t mean residents won’t be getting their Christmas sugar cookies! Dietary baked up some cutouts and some of our other staff took care of the rest

OUR HAIR SALON IS OPENING!!! We couldn't be happier to let friends and families know that the Department of Health has just given approval for hair salons in assisted living facilities to re-open! Our hair stylist, Annette, is currently working hard on a schedule to take care of every single resident here (nearly 100!). **Please do not call the facility to request an appointment for your loved one.** Please make sure your resident has funds available in their personal accounts to pay for their services. Every resident will be serviced as quickly as possible. We do not yet know what days services will be offered but we're planning to begin next week. We appreciate your patience and understanding - we can't wait to "beautify" all of our residents! We will keep you updated.

It's National Handwashing Week! According to the CDC, keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. #Elderwood #WeKnowTheWay

Relax, Refresh & Renew! #spaweek

Ohh la la We had the most wonderful start to our Spa Week! Residents relaxed and rejuvenated with individual treatments including facials, head and neck massages, hand and arm massages and manicures. They experienced aromatherapy and were able to customize their experience by choosing their own scents, colors and treats. Everything was socially distanced and sanitized throughly between residents. We will share photos of each spa session! #TheSpaAtElderwood

Miss Shirley, in the middle holding onto the cart, is retiring from our housekeeping department after an incredible 18 YEARS at our facility! She has always done a wonderful job with our residents personal items and laundry, taking extra care with each person. We will miss you! Enjoy a much deserved retirement
