3 Reasons to love the Mediterranean diet: 1 Tzatziki Arguably one of the most traditional Greek spreads, tzatziki is a light and refreshing dip made of mainly shredded cucumber & yogurt. Tzatziki is a creamy, cold and tangy spread, making it a perfect choice for your warm pita bread. 2 Tyrokafteri (Spicy feta dip) This spicy and creamy dip is made of feta cheese & roasted red peppers. Garnished with smoked paprika, this creamy, delicious feta combines with the spicy ...peppers to create a dip that is at once cool and fiery. 3Hummus The perennial favorite across much of the Mediterranean & the Middle East, hummus is a blend of mashed chickpeas and tahini, cumin, & garlic. Garnished with whole chickpeas, our Hummus is both healthy and delicious.

Probably the most widely-eaten and popular spread in the world, Hummus. It’s vegan, gluten-free, super healthy, made with the most pure ingredients, and still soooo delicious. Our own Hummus is served with a pinch of smoked paprika for extra flavor. Yummm

Do you know what Eléa means in Greek? Many of you have been asking when you visit our restaurant, so here’s a brief #wednesdaywisdom for all of our non-Greek speaking friends. Eléa, is the ancient Greek word for olive tree or olive. This name was very deliberately chosen for our restaurant as there’s nothing more purely Greek and iconic than the olive tree for the Greek culture and the olive oil for the Greek cuisine. According to Greek mythology, goddess Athená won the pat...ronage of the city of Athens from Poseidon with the gift of an olive tree, a symbol of peace. It is believed that the first olive tree was planted in Athens by goddess Athená. So this tells you that Greek ties to the olive tree run very deep. To this day, olive oil is at the core of Greek cuisine. In fact, Greece is one of the top three olive oil producing countries in the world. And indisputably Greek olive oil is the finest. In our Olive Press Room that is located in our main dining area, you can see some traditional Greek grinding stones that were used back in the date to crush the olives and make the extra virgin olive oil. In Greece, there’s a whole food category devoted to olive oil, called ladera, loosely translated into oily or with oil. Ladera dishes are almost always vegetarian, made up of oneor more vegetables cooked in an olive oil-based sauce that often includes tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and spices. Ladera dishes are favorites any day of the week but are especially appreciated during lent and other times of fasting when meat and dairy products are restricted. Here at Eléa we import our own extra virgin olive oil from Peloponnese, Greece. Our olive oil is an authentic treasure. It’s rich flavors, with notes of grass and a peppery finish, make it perfect for dipping, for salads, and for sautéing. And if you don’t have the time to run to your closest Greek store, our olive oil is always available for purchase at the restaurant or online.
