The practical stuff: When we meet, we will discuss what materials are needed for the rituals you've chosen. If possible a podium for the written service or music stand is helpful, and for a large group, especially if outdoors, we may need a sound system with a microphone for me and possibly microphones for others speaking or performing. You can also let me know if there are guidelines for clothing (i.e., color, style, formality), etc. Generally I have not attended wedding reh...earsals, but can do that as well for a separate fee. I include a modest travel fee, just for driving to and from your venue, but if there is more extensive travel required, or food or lodging expense, we can add that in. Other expenses such as venue, decoration, flowers, music, wedding planning outside the ceremony itself are up to you and/or your wedding planner and are not included in my service. Many couples have invited me to a celebration after their wedding service, but that is not required or expected. I welcome your questions and having a clear agreement as to our expectations for all concerned. See more

When preparing for a wedding (and other ceremonies as well), we meet at least once in person when possible, or via Skype or other video call, to discuss your vision, what language, symbols or rituals would be meaningful for you, who will be involved, and in what order you want the ceremony to proceed. We may cover music, readings, materials needed, and whether there are any needs to be addressed as part of the service for those who attend the ceremony. As I've gotten to know ...you, I will write the ceremony specifically for you, with your input, which we can usually do via e-mail. For weddings, most of the couples I've officiated have chosen to write their own vows or say them spontaneously. That will be up to you. For a legal ceremony, I will sign your license at the end of the wedding. You will also receive a beautifully typeset copy of the service. An additional service: I also offer couple sessions (for an additional fee) designed to form the marriage (using a wonderful awareness process), to clear any blockages or misunderstandings or family issues as necessary, to share skills of marriaging and to discern the highest purpose of the relationship.

One of the most sacred and joyful moments of my life was when I was ordained as a non-denominational Minister. I sensed the blessing of Light and of love coming over and through me and knew that this active Light of God was present with me in my ministry to all who needed it. As a healer, counselor, workshop facilitator, friend and family member, and especially as minister, this love and Light are present and functioning for the highest good of all. In ceremonies, I can truly... pronounce God's blessing with confidence. In this I am grateful. Part of my ordination blessing says, Go forward into the world, ministering to all, regardless of race, creed, color, situation, circumstance or environment. Therefore, this is my commitment: I believe that we are souls, each unique and magnificent. Therefore, differences in skin color, sexual orientation, belief system, etc., are not considerations in my willingness and joy in being of service. See more

As we are looking for ourselves, we often see ourselves in others who are open to reflect. We then love them, not just for who they are, but for that reflection of our love in them. What we're really saying is, "When I'm with you, that place inside of me that is loving awakens." John-Roger
