We got today a sweet thank you note from a family we donated food. Her message says Thank you for your donations. God bless all people that are helping so fam...ilies can have food to eat We help to give hope and strength to these families in a moment of huge despair. We help to show them as well that we care as neighbors about their wellbeing. This small action will not resolve all their problems but hopefully will give them strength to keep going. During these difficult times we have done so much together as a community. We are grateful for all the donations provided to Our Children's Voice. Almost all ou...r food donations were given to Elmhurst Community Partners. It's with great joy to announce that families part of this pantry our now part of new pantry setup in the Queens Museum. This pantry is publicly funded and guarantees food for 1,000 families. This is a great accomplishment and we are proud to have contributed in a tiny way to make this happen. But this doesn't mean that are job is done, they are still many families struggling .We are still collecting donations and more energized than ever to keep helping. We have now partnered with a group of teachers from middle school IS 61 located in Corona Queens. These teachers saw first hand the impact of their students not having food and took matters into hand to help them. They are collecting and distributing from their houses, trying to help those in desperate need. This is community work at it's best and we are excited to be partnering with them ! Our neighbors need our help. Corona, Elmhurst and Jackson Heights that have been severely impacted because of COVID. Elmhurst Community Partner is currently trying to feed 1000 families from a pantry that was setup to help families impacted. These communities are struggling to pay simple items like food, diapers, cleaning supplies and more. Our Children's Voice is a group of mom's from Queens that decided to take action and help our neighbors in need....
