The branches for our story with @ligayamishan for @tmagazine are made what they are by miraculous forces of weather, but they are only here due to the labors of my friends @majorwholesale and @wholesaleflow28 and #USEvergreen who scale trees, endure poison ivy, ticks and far worse to bring these treasures forth. I’m honored to get a chance to reflect on my regard for the hallowed art of ikebana in this new book from @rakesprogress @ludionpublishers . As I say on the back cover, how can I not have a relationship to Ikebana? Much as asymmetry is defined by symmetry, ikebana is always in the room when one works with flowers. Thank you to all who helped with this project, especially @kingamojsa @issima__ @kyokopajama and @deborahneedleman whose story for @tmagazine generated many of the images used for the book. @ New York, New York

This is our season, the Season of the Witch, and though we may have had enough plagues for a century, we can still get up to some good haunting. We’ve tested out our new world order with a select number of spectacles and celebrations, and have conquered all sorts of hurdles to begin again, after many fits and starts.
