On Saturday we donated a garden to Plainview Hospital. The garden was created as a memorial to both those employees that passed due to covid and those that worked so hard saving lives. The team doing the planting consisted of myself, my brother Greg, my son Ryan and this beautiful woman, Margaret Fox-Jackson. Margaret also created the design from which the garden was planted. We owe this incredible woman a very big thank you. Thank you Margaret. Your care, commitment and kindness are second to none.

It looks like these bees are having a good time pollinating this Passion flower. Notice the pollen being transferred to their backs as they pass under the anthers which in turn is transferred to the stigmas as they pass under them. This is Passiflora incarnata. One of the passifloras native to the US and hardy to zone 7.

Load and unload trucks by hand, pallet mover, lift gate or forklift in a careful and efficient manner. Responsible for counting items and checking orders to make sure they match invoices. Stage racks and carts on trucks in ways to increase efficiency. Perform cart maintenance, building, and storage. Responsible for the collection of payments and/ or signature from customers and the safe handling of those invoices and payments. Professionally interact with customers and others at points of delivery and/or pickup. Ensure truck is properly loaded and secured. Drive the truck in a safe, lawful and courteous manner. Follow a schedule of pick-up and delivery. Inspect vehicle equipment and supplies. Report vehicle maintenance needs, and perform light maintenance such as maintaining air pressure in tires, maintaining vehicle fluids, and installing bulbs. Maintain vehicle cleanliness. Comply with specialized regulations, such as US Department of Transportation regulations and New York City and State Department of Transportation laws and regulations. Typical hours - 7-5 Monday thru Friday with longer days with overtime spring and fall. Overtime is time plus half.

Just when you thought you’d seen all the Pepperomia varieties available we came across this gem. The leaves have markings like argyreia but unlike the watermelon pep, the leaves are corrugated rather than glossy and smooth.
