A city built for and run by students, Enterprise America’s Biz Camp offered an opportunity for campers through the Syracuse Parks and Rec program to experience the entrepreneurial process! After learning about product design, campers worked together to brainstorm new product ideas, and create a blueprint of the idea they wanted to pursue. Today, Enterprise America welcomed its last and final school group of the 2018-2019 school year! 70 students from McGraw Jr/Sr High School filled the city with hustle and bustle as they bought and sold their goods and services to each other and other businesses. One group of innovative McGraw students opened a Science Center, where they performed Elephant Toothpaste experiments and sold scientific items such as Tornados in a Bottle, Slime, Lava Lamps, Floating Ping Pong B...alls, and Glitter in a Bottle. On this terrific Tuesday, Enterprise America welcomed 6th grade students from Salem Hyde Elementary School! Salem Hyde is a veteran school and has been attending EA for a couple of years now. There were over 80 students who attended today! The Mayor, Judge, and Bank President were incredible at their jobs and 11 students competed in the annual Dance Contest ... To finish this week off strong, a second group of students from Camillus Middle School enjoyed their Enterprise America experience today!! Thank you to all of the volunteers who attended to help, as students familiarized themselves with their roles and their businesses. Today, Enterprise America welcomed Day 1 students from Camillus Middle School! Multiple businesses were able to pay off their loan, the Bank President, Bank Vice President, and Bank Tellers ran the Bank flawlessly (even when students flocked to the teller lines to deposit their paychecks!), and the Mayor and Judge ran the City without a hiccup! To round out the day, the Sports Shop hosted a Basketball Shooting contest, where student Nolan took home the gold! Congratulations!... An awesome time was had by all! #wcny #wcnyconnected
