Does it ever feel like no matter what you do your child just doesn't seem to understand how much you love them? Maybe you and your child are speaking two differ...ent languages when it comes to the language of love! Learning your child's love language can help you be more connected and have a deeper relationship with your child. It can also give you some perspective on what you might tend to think are annoying habits. (We have a child who, even though he can fully dress himself, still asks for help on the daily! We strongly suspect his love language is Acts of Service or Quality Time.) To learn more about the 5 Love Languages of Children, check out Dr. Gary Chapman's book! It's currently on sale and is filled with wonderful tips for fostering a loving relationship with your child: https://amzn.to/3sWNxQ8
Dear College Students everywhere, Should you have a class with a professor like me who requires you to do vlog entries for your course, please remember the foll...owing basic principles: 1. Change the battery in your smoke detector so it doesn't beep and ruin the audio. 2. Do not angle the camera lens up your nostrils. 3. Don't chew gum. It's distracting. 4. Ask folks in your home or dorm room to be silent for a few minutes while you record. And please respectfully ask your mama to stay out of the frame instead of walking back and forth in a night gown or your daddy clearing phlegm from his throat while he reads the paper. 5. Turn off the ceiling fan behind your head. It can be distracting and even nauseating for folks who suffer from reverse motion sickness. 6. Don't vlog in the bathroom in front of the towel rack or the shower where there's drying underwear hanging from the pole. It's just not a professional look. Remember, you are responsible for everything that we see and hear. 7. You don't have to hold your microphone close to your lips. You can blow out your listener's ear holes with b's, p's and t's. Especially if they're wearing headphones while listening to you. Let the mic rest on your chest if you're wearing headphones or a lavalier connection. 8. Stop playing with your hair and don't smack yourself upside the head if you have a scalp itch. 9. Go a little lighter on the lip gloss, please. Moisturized lips are a good thing but when that selfie lamp hits the gloss that lip shine can give us the feeling that the light of Black Jesus is calling you to Glory. 10. Don't vlog in a bonnet. And please put on a bra! Thank you. A loving professor, Dr. P.

The library has become my own personal mission. In every aspect of life you must be able to read. It's foundational to success. I love reading and I know that... reading to my own daughter every day as a child developed her brain and made her the intelligent woman she is today. Reading develops confidence and imagination. We already have a Junie b. Jones/Beverly Cleary area in honor of Jaelah Jenkins, a special young lady with the spunk, energy and attitude of junie b. Any Books or subscriptions can be sent right to the school. The address to the school is Legends Charter school 9700 Philadelphia Court Lanham, MD 20706
