Our mission is to combat systemic injustices and racial inequity in The City of Troy, NY and Rensselaer County through community outreach, education, advocacy and development. We will address not only the disparities of wealth and income that exist in our community, but also confront the racial disparities of wealth and income. Our purpose is to stamp out institutional racism wherever it exists. Yes.. it’s been far too long. The city got money for their corrupt police department . However no money for lights and cameras. I bet if their kids was getting shot and killed this would not even be a conversation. What’s worst is they ignore and evade this conversation with the ppl. Disgusting

#freeT TASHECA MEDINA HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED BY THE NYPD Tasheca Medina Sandlers, the founder of Equality for Troy, was last seen exiting the Troy City Court at approximately 12 noon in an unmarked gray sedan. Tasheca appeared for an in-person arraignment on the morning of December 7th, and was advised by the judge of an outstanding bench warrant in NYC. She was cuffed and put in detainment immediately. No further details were provided. Central Booking NYC has been contacted mu...ltiple times and refuses to provide any information. Tasheca is a mother of four young boys and two adult sons, who love and respect her very much. When she’s not at home with her family, she can usually be found out and about in the city of Troy providing essential services to the community. In the past six months alone, Tasheca has organized two census events held in Barker Park to help disadvantaged populations get counted, a Halloween event for children in Barker Park, a Thanksgiving meal in partnership with the Oakwood Community Center, and more. She was also a leader in the June 7th Black Lives Matter Rally in Troy, which drew over 11,000 participants and remained completely peaceful except for armed Proud Boys who were recognized and promptly arrested. As the founder of Equality for Troy, Tasheca has ensured that everyone in the organization is trained in harm reduction and Narcan administration. Her work has played a vital role in getting 20 substance abusers into treatment, and in the warmer months she facilitated meal cooking and distribution to houseless individuals and families in Barker Park. Most recently, her projects have included a new partnership with Food Not Bombs Albany, and an effort to adopt twenty families in need for the holidays. Tasheca’s love for the people of Troy and her passion for serving her community are clear through her work, and the people who are closest to her know what a fiercely caring friend she is. Tasheca is an integral part of the Troy community, and we need help to bring her home safely.
