Attention Democratic Candidates in Chesterfield and North Elba Anyone interested in running for local office on the Democratic line in the Towns of Chesterfield and North Elba should be aware that those towns use the caucus method to determine who will represent their party on the ballot. Caucuses will be held between March 2 and July 22. To learn more about caucus plans in your town, contact your town’s Democratic Chair.

The Essex County Board of Elections will hold its annual organizational meeting on Monday, January 25 at 1:00 pm. The meeting will be held virtually due to Covid-19. It is open to the public but pre-registration is required. To pre-register, contact the Board of Elections at (518) 873-3474, [email protected]
The State Board of Elections would like to advise all voters, the voting machine/scanner will accept and count a ballot marked by any pen, marker or pencil, blue or black ink, ball point, felt-tip or sharpie. Tuesday, June 23 is New York's Primary Election. If you have not voted by absentee ballot or early voted and you are a Chesterfield Republican or an Essex County Democrat, this is your final opportunity to cast your ballot. In Chesterfield, a Town Council Primary is open for Republican voters. In all Essex County towns, a Presidential Primary is open for all Democratic voters.... Polls will be open from 6 am to 9 pm. For a complete list of Essex County Poll Sites, see http://www.co.essex.ny.us/downloads/BOE-PollAddr.pdf Voters with absentee ballots that have not yet been mailed can return them to the Board of Elections office in Elizabethtown. Absentee ballots can also be mailed on Tuesday, but MUST HAVE A JUNE 23 POSTMARK to be counted.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY EARLY VOTING HOURS Two more early voting days remain in the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary and the Town of Chesterfield’s Republican Primary for Town Council. Voting on Saturday and Sunday will take place from 9 am to 2 pm. Voting takes place at the Essex County Public Safety Building located at 702 Stowersville Rd. in Lewis.
FRIDAY EARLY VOTING HOURS Friday’s early voting hours are 9 am to 5 pm. Democratic voters are encouraged to cast their ballot in the 2020 Presidential Primary. Registered Republican voters from the Town of Chesterfield are also invited to vote in the Town’s Town Council race. Early voting will take place at the Essex County Public Safety Building located at 702 Stowersville Rd. in Lewis.
THURSDAY EARLY VOTING HOURS Today’s early voting hours are 9 am to 5 pm. Voting in the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary and the Town of Chesterfield’s Republican Primary for Town Council will occur at the Essex County Public Safety Building located at 702 Stowersville Rd. in Lewis.
WEDNESDAY EARLY VOTING HOURS Early voting continues on Wednesday, June 17 from 12 pm to 8 pm. Democratic voters are invited to cast their ballots in the 2020 Presidential Primary at the Essex County Public Safety Building located at 702 Stowersville Rd. in Lewis. Republican voters from the Town of Chesterfield are also welcome to cast their ballot at the Public Safety building in the Town’s Town Council race.
