Evolution Combat Club Muay Thai and MMA, Long Island NY

27 years ago tonight, I chose to stay home to watch a new event advertised on pay per view as real fighting. A few months before this, PPV had broadcast Shootwrestling from Japan, a form of pro wrestling that they claimed to be real. In reality, Shootwrestling was actually UWF puroresu, a stiff form of wrestling with very realistic technique, but still with a predetermined outcome. Even though I was skeptical about the UFC, I decided to watch anyway. Seeing that event changed my life. Since then I’ve traveled the world, studied martial arts in Brazil, Thailand, Japan, China, Myanmar, and all across the US. I’ve made lifelong friends, and even met my wife through Martial arts training. Thank You to the Gracie family and Art Davie for creating the UFC, you have literally changed the world with your vision.
