Fall Brook Stable

Bandito's first trail ride and my first day back on a horse since my knee injury that was 10 weeks ago this upcoming Monday. Felt good to be in the saddle, but it felt even better to see what an incredible horse that Bandito was on the trails! He was better behaved than the one I was riding.

Rodeo Camp Such a great group of kids!!

Rodeo Camp was a BLAST with these kids (plus the 2 who left before the pic ) !! They did incredible and were so much fun to work with!! Thank you to all the parents who are raising these amazing kids!! We enjoyed every single moment with them! More pics will be coming tonight or tomorrow....stay tuned.

You fall down 100x You get up 100x You learn 100 things. This cowgirl has so much grit! At the end of our day I asked the show team what their favorite part about today was. This one said- SKIJORING!! We all responded with, REALLY?? LOL The truth is if you are afraid to be challenged or to fail, and you are always living within your comfort zone, you will never grow.....and if you're not growing then you are dying. Whether you are a kid or 80, never stop challenging yourself. I love that this girl is always willing to be challenged and she smiles while taking it on.

We have 2 spots left on the 12th, 13th, and 30th for our pop-up one hour group lessons. The 12th &13th are from 5-6pm and the 30th is from 10-11am.

Champion Skijoring Team in the making!! We had a show team fun day with my barn daughters!! Some of them got to ski for their first time. They all got to experience skijoring for their first time and realized there is a lot more to it than it looks. My husband calls me a "pack rat" (), but because I am a "collector of nice things (as I prefer to say), I was able to supply skis for every team member (although one pair didn't work well, so we did some sharing). Yes, I h...ave every single pair of skis I have ever owned and @emilyawasheleski s too. Emilya said to me that today was like a dream come true having all these kids out skiing with me, and letting them experience skijoring....AND it most definitely was! It was also a test of my patience We also did some sledding, had amazing snacks, and I pulled them around in a sled behind my snowmobile.....to say we had a blast today is an understatement! Day #2 for Tuttle and learning how to line drive.

Spent time at the cabins and brook on this warm January day. We will be creating campfires at multiple cabins for our Winter Valentine's Adventure Event so that people can social distance and still enjoy a cozy fire and all the beauty of Fall Brook. The water was so serene today and crystal clear. We have had a lot of people message us recently and ask if we rent out our cabins. We currently do not but may offer a very limited amount of bookings for this year's camping season. If you are interested in being put on a notification list, let us know. If you got to pick which cabin/treehouse you could stay in, which one would you choose?

When you are going to be 31 but you act like you are 5! This horse has so much energy now that pony clubs are over and it is cooler! Look at his trot (in slow motion), I think he needs to go back to the youth world show and do walk trot barrels!!

#trailthursdays It isn't about cantering, going fast, or riding around in circles. It's about precision, timing, feel, strategy, patience, building your confidence and your horse's confidence.....and learning how to be an extraordinary partner so you set your horse up for success. This particular obstacle was rather challenging for both the students and horses but we found ways to break it down into simpler steps and then they were able to do the entire thing. I love challenging my students and horses, and pushing them beyond their comfort zone because there is no growth otherwise. The mastery is in knowing the balance between pushing too far and not requesting enough.

February Horse Camp Experience

Holly is getting her Bemer session while eating her breakfast! She has been so HAPPY and full-of-herself!! As horse trainers we only get really excited about horses being full of themselves when they aren't feeling well or are older than dirt (like most of mine) and have lost their pep in their step.... and brightness in their eyes! When I purchased this blanket, I was gifted the use of the human Bemer unit to try. I have been using it for almost 30 days and I can't bel...ieve what it has done for me! It has had such an impact that I bought one for myself and family!! ....AND I would not have done that if it hadn't made a HUGE difference! I deal with immense pain a few days out of every month. So much so that I medicate on ibuprofen just so I can be somewhat functional. However, even then I struggle to do what has to be done. I usually know when these tough days are upon me, however this month I had no idea because of using the Bemer. I had zero pain and didn't have to take one single pain med!! It blew my mind because I have dealt with this pain every single month for the past 3 years consistently! When I look at the fact that enduring so much pain and suffering was costing me almost an entire month of my life every single year that I could be living pain free and with velocity, purchasing the Bemer was not even a question of should I or shouldn't I!! It is an icy mess outside and yet somehow we can still find the beauty in the mess. We started the New Year, yesterday, taking down all the Christmas decorations, cleaning, and I made some new poles for our lesson/ training program. I can't wait to finish them all and start incorporating them into lessons this week!! We have a lot of things we are working on in 2021 to make Fall Brook Stable better. My main goals for 2021 are all focused around the horses and I can't ...tell you how excited I am about this and for our students and horses!! What are you looking to create for 2021? What would you like us to create here?

With schools shutting down again and Winter blowing in, we know that some of our seasonal students may need something to cheer them up, and help fight off Winter boredom and blues......so Em & I are considering doing random pop-up lessons from now until Mid-March for students who might be missing their favorite FBS pony/horse, and can't wait till March to rejoin us. If this is something you are interested in, let us know and we will notify you first when we choose our first day and time. It would be a one hour, small group lesson of 4-6 kids but with two instructors, so more like a semi-private lesson.
