As a lot of you already know the IRS will start receiving personal returns on February 12th. A lot later than in the past. E filing has opened up as of yester...day on the 15th. As a practitioner I can start preparing returns as soon as you have all your information such as w-2s and 1099s. I can also transmit them but the IRS will not accept them until February 12th. They will be in the system ready for acceptance. If you prefer to scan and send your information to me by email, I can accept those documents and work with those just as well instead of dropping them off at my office. What I do ask that please send a copy, front and back, of your up to date drivers license and phone number where I can call or text you. Because of the Covid 19 I sent returns back to a lot of my clients as a PDF last year to save them a trip to my office and to practice social distancing. My e-mail is [email protected].
