Fannie Bartlett House and Point Museum

It’s nice to have a local Victorian home/museum to visit during the holidays! . . As I’ve mentioned before, we can’t really have a Christmas tree or too many de...corations due to our animals (mainly the cats), but I we have a local, beautiful, old Victorian home in the area that has been made into a museum that they decorate to the nines each year and it’s free to visit! . For me, this was a dual-purpose visit. I got to enjoy the trees (there are 15 set up this year, although during a normal Christmas season, they usually have 30!) and I was also taking photos for our local historical society that I belong to. . I figured I’d share one of those photos for day Day 12 of #joyfulhomesteads :Festive Decor. This was the child’s bedroom and is one of the more simple rooms in the home. In the early 1900s, the family went on a 3 year vacation to Europe, while they had Italian craftsman come and build them a work of art home, which includes a HUGE Tiffany glass window, which is my favorite feature of the house. . If you live in the Olean, NY area, the Bartlett House and Olean Point Museum on the corner of Laurens and Second is an amazing and really interesting place to check out during the holidays. See more

Be sure to see the Victorian Fannie E Bartlett Center beautifully decorated for the holidays at 302 Laurens Street. Inside the home, twelve rooms are decorated in Christmas holiday splendor. At this time, the house will be open regular hours Wednesday and Friday from 1-5pm and from now until Christmas on Monday evening from 5-7pm with limited visitation. Face masks and social distancing required.

The 2021 Fannie E Bartlett Center "Transportation Through the Years" Calendars are now available in time for the holidays.
