Spaying feral cats in an empty vfw covid style.

FARVets 10.12.2020

Last weekend Jami and I helped Erica Ann Dunton of Herkimer's Community Cat Project run a feral cat sterilization clinic. We did 40 cats in 2 days. Erica did a great job organizing and running her first TNR clinic! A great effort in addressing overpopulation and welfare issues in her community!

Here is an article Drs. Jami Landry and Paul Maza just had published! Information on one of the possible anesthesia protocols we use in field clinics in FARVets clinics abroad. Please feel free to share with others for use in similar field sterilization surgery clinics. http://vetrecordcasereports.bmj.com//cont/full/8/2/e000953 http://vetrecordcasereports.bmj.com//cont/8/2/e000953.full

In response to the COVID-19 global crisis many of our partners are struggling to feed animals that rely on them for care. Many people in our own communities are in need of food. FARVets has organized a virtual race series to benefit organizations at home and abroad who are providing food to those in need. If you’re a runner, or even a hiker or someone who wants to see how far you can go in your own home; consider participating in this virtual event celebrating creativity and social distancing in the face of adversity. Participants will receive a handmade collaborative medal (assembled in stages and mailed to one another ie maintaining social distancing) by Paul Maza and Jami Landry.
