An in depth look at Feirstein's very 1st graduating class courtesy of BC/Stories. This very brave group of students helped us bring this school to life and they've set the bar very high with their amazing works. (Pardon us while we #dote). Many thanks to Brooklyn College for this incredible piece. http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu//b/feirsteins-first-class.php

Black Perspectives is the award-winning blog of the African American Intellectual History Society (AAIHS). Check out the two-week blog series, featuring eight autoethnographies from students at Brooklyn College funded by the Social Science Research Council grant initiative for research on inequality and the pandemic. Despite ample recognition that COVID-19 is hitting Black communities, immigrant communities, poor Americans, and undocumented people disproportionately hard, hearing from young people in these communities is exceedingly rare. This space has been made for students to analyze and contextualize what was happening to them and those around them this summer. These autoethnographies have now been deposited at the Brooklyn Historical Society and the Brooklyn College COVID-19 archive. https://www.aaihs.org/tag/autoethnographies/

#studentspotlight "Feirstein is a young institution with everything to prove, where creativity and production take center stage, and that's perfectly synonymous with my own place in the world." -Vito Rowlands, 2nd Year Feirstein Directing Student... Vito is an Antwerp and New York based writer, director, producer, and professor. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Film at Columbia University in New York. He has previously taught in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Ghent, and Antwerp, and he is also a film instructor at the Brooklyn based film non-profit Mono No Aware. His producing debut, C. We've worked very hard to be able to reopen safely, and on a very limited and socially distanced basis. We are excited to be back in effect so students are able to get their projects done using the technology available on-site. #staysafe #masksmandatory #inthistogether News 12 Brooklyn Brooklyn College The City University of New York

"Terry, who owns the motel (the shooting location), very kindly offered to let anyone on the crew stay at the Silver Sands and ride out the pandemic for as long as they wanted. About a third of our crew members, mostly the single Brooklyn types, took him up on the offer and stayed for over two months. Five months into quarantine, one of them is still there (in what we’re now officially calling an Artist-in-Residency). #thatssobrooklyn

A legend has passed. ALAN PARKER’s films inspired me for many many years -- MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, BIRDY, ANGELA’S ASHES, ANGEL HEART, THE COMMITMENTS, FAME, PINK FLOYD’s THE WALL, SHOOT THE MOON .. and on and on. Tonight, in Sir Parker’s honor, my sons and I watched one of his best; MISSISSIPPI BURNING. The storytelling is extra-ordinary, as old vs new culture is contrasted; in the fight for civil rights in 60’s Mississippi as well as in the policing methods utilized to bring about justice. RIP ALAN PARKER, we are fewer. Richard Gladstein, Executive Director - Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema
