This is the sad truth. Rather than being proactive, it’s more like, let’s wait until it gets really bad so we can put you on a lot of medications. It sounds ridiculous but it’s currently what goes on in the world of conventional medicine. Functional medicine is all about prevention and deep detective work. The focus is root cause and stopping and reversing the progression.... It’s time to be proactive and not wait until your health worsens! ANA’s do and can become negative! Share this with someone that was told the same thing. #functionalmedicine #functionalmedicinepractitioner #autoimmunity #conventionalmedicinesucks #autoimmunityisreversible #lupus #chronicillness #dontwaitforlabstoworsen

I heard an influencer today talking about how exhausted she was and that she didn’t feel like working out. She’s someone that eats very clean and works out/runs 5-7 days per week. This struck me because as women, we need to listen to our bodies. Maybe her body really needed and wanted rest. Yes it’s important to have some form of exercise in your life but forcing your body to endure a high impact workout sounds torturous especially when you’ve got low energy.... I want you to consider that if you’ve been feeling unusually tired and this feeling persists : Get your adrenals checked Get an iron panel done Check a full thyroid panel not just a TSH Where are you in your cycle? Right before our periods, in the luteal phase, is a time when high impact exercise should become low impact such as yoga, Pilates, or walking. This is not a time to force your body to do high impact. We have a beautifully complex symphony of hormones that require certain things at certain times. It’s vital to listen to your body. If you feel tired and you’re in the 2nd half of your cycle., don’t force your body to workout like a man. Our cycles and our energy ebbs and flows. And don’t feel guilty about it either. #listentoyourbody #womensbodywomenswisdom #lowenergylevel #adrenalfatigueawareness #hypothyroid #fatigued #wearenotmen #selfcareforawomansbody

This is my happy place, my kitchen! It's like a huge altar for me, a place where I spend time to nourish my body. My home is my sanctuary. My bedroom is where my body rests and my adrenals replenish. My living room, where I spend time to read, watch a little Netflix and lay on my infrared sauna mat. And my beloved kitchen. The place where I love to create recipes, talk to you, and teach about healthy eating! That eating healthy doesn't h...ave to be complex or hard. Who else is a cook out there? Tag someone that loves to cook, I see you girl! #cook #homechef #eatinghealthy #cookingdoesnthavetobehard #cookingclass #cookingvideo #healthycookingclass #healthycookingideas #homeismysanctuary #kitchenqueen See more

There are many reason for hair loss but you may not have heard of these three. 1. Mold. Yes, mold from home or your work place has been shown to trigger allergic reactions, releasing histamine. Histamine then causes inflammation which affects the capillaries which are tiny vessels at the roots of your hair. Your hair doesn't get enough blood supply and breaks off leading to hair loss. 2. Gut issues: most gut issues involves some form of p...ermeability. When you cannot absorb the nutrients from your food or supplements, your hair suffers. How well are you eating? Do you have IBS, lots of gas and bloating? Get a good stool test done by a functional medicine provider, identify the problem and your hair can start growing back. 3. Dental infections: One study showed recurrent tooth infections can lead to an autoimmune condition called alopecia areata. So next time, don't ignore a tooth infection for long periods of time. #toothpain #hairloss #alopecia #dentalproblems #mold #moldtoxicity #moldyhome #gutproblems #permeabilityissues #functionalmedicine See more

Have you been struggling to lose weight and tried everything? How about food sensitivity testing? I don't mean the kind of food allergy that creates an anaphylactic reaction. Food sensitivities are extremely common. Let's say you have an unknown sensitivity to eggs ( very common) and you eat them everyday. You may have some very slight symptoms that go under your radar and you continue to eat eggs. If you have a sensitivity, you body re...acts every single time you eat eggs. You may get bloated or distended in your belly area. So the question is, are you overweight or just eating lots of foods your body is sensitive to? Continually eating foods that your body is reacting to everyday will continue to create inflammation in your body. This then leads to fluid retention, digestive issues, chronic illnesses, autoimmunity, permeability issues and so much more. Get a food sensitivity panel done. Skin testing from an allergist is not the same! This typically only tests for IgE reactions which is a reaction that necessitates a visit to the ER. That is not the same as a sensitivity. Find a functional medicine practitioner and find out if your weight gain is due to food sensitivities. Once you identify the foods and remove them, the weight and inflammation will go down. PS: I do offer single tests evaluations. #functionalmedicine #foodsensitivity #foodasmedicine #foodsensitivitytest #foodsensitivityawareness #weightgain #weightlossgoals #overweight #overweightandtired See more
