We are disappointed to announce that due to a variety of circumstances, unfortunately there will not be a FCI 2018 film festival this year. Dr. Hakak has indicated that he is looking at expanding the scope of the festival for 2019, but we will not be accepting any submissions this year. On behalf of FCI, thanks to you, to the filmmakers and to Proctors Theater for your support. We hope to see you in 2019.
This Sunday FCI teams up with Cherry Valley Artworks to bring a 3-session "Best of FCI" program to Star Theater! For more information, please see the event description below The news is full of stories about this part of the world - but what do we know about the actual people who live there? Beyond the categories of refugee and terrorist there are real people - families, women, children, the elderly - striving to maintain some of the oldest cultural traditions on the planet, ...attempting to adjust to the modern world and struggling to find hope in a sometimes hopeless situation. These short films offer a unique insight into the region and it's people while affording the film makers an opportunity to be seen and heard by an audience that would normally be out of reach. In times like these nothing is more valuable than connection and understanding. Candace Burnham, Director of Public Affairs and Cultural Exchange for FCI, will introduce each session and Scott Collins, Artistic and General Director, will lead discussions. TO HELP CAPTURE THE MOOD WE WILL BE OFFERING MIDDLE EASTERN TREATS TO ACCOMPANY THE FILMS Admission: $10/ per film session or $25/All screenings!
