Macro The logs I picked up a few weeks back have been squared up to rough size and are almost ready to get set aside for a few weeks to lose moisture. Using the big @stihl saw to cut them to rough length, and make them more manageable. #fieldstoneartistry #sunnyday #chips #saw #pine #hustle #wip

Failure I have been slowly working on a new lamp design over the last year. I am hopeful to be releasing it early next week. This was the final prototype, which took an unfortunate tumble from a shelf in the studio the other day. Funky I have been very fortunate with work coming in over the last year. The downside is, speculative projects and new pieces need to be pushed off to fill orders as they come in. Hustle This week is bookended with some non-typical work for me. Monday we began at the sawmill squaring up the logs from my previous post. Floating This custom console was delivered last weekend. It’s design fits squarely in the aesthetic that I have gravitated to in recent years. Multiple spaces for use of varying size, separation between elements with open space and multiple materials used in a singular form. Obsession I’ve found that I often focus on the smallest details on a piece. Precise drawer spacing, clocked screws, even grain matching across panels that are never seen by the client. Some might consider this obsession (or insanity), but I know it is what keeps me going on projects.
