Patience Finishing up a Triptych this week for @artfulhome While these pieces take an enormous amount of work, and patience, to complete, the end product makes it all worth it. Triptych in Cherry shown... #fieldstoneartistry

Assembly Required Working on filling an order for a Triptych Chandelier out of walnut to finish out the week. These chandeliers have 660 individual wood pieces that make up the globes. #fieldstoneartistry #parts #walnut #chandelier #lighting #wip

Macro The logs I picked up a few weeks back have been squared up to rough size and are almost ready to get set aside for a few weeks to lose moisture. Using the big @stihl saw to cut them to rough length, and make them more manageable. #fieldstoneartistry #sunnyday #chips #saw #pine #hustle #wip

Failure I have been slowly working on a new lamp design over the last year. I am hopeful to be releasing it early next week. This was the final prototype, which took an unfortunate tumble from a shelf in the studio the other day. I guess it’s time to really prove this concept. #fieldstoneartistry #failure #lamp #newdesign #ash #oops

Funky I have been very fortunate with work coming in over the last year. The downside is, speculative projects and new pieces need to be pushed off to fill orders as they come in. Such is the situation for the new I.X. Lamp. I’m hopeful that I can finish it up soon and show it off! In the meantime, another teaser shot of the construction process. Thank god for @3m blue tape! #fieldstoneartistry #newwork #lamp #geometry #busy #hustlehard

Lines The executive desk that this brass HVAC grill was designed for, was delivered last week. While this small detail became incredibly more challenging than expected, the end product was exactly what I wanted. #fieldstoneartistry #brass #desk #details #clean #lines

Hustle This week is bookended with some non-typical work for me. Monday we began at the sawmill squaring up the logs from my previous post. Today (and yesterday) I am working on a fairly large logging job for #pondhouseny. Clearing out the majority of the remaining Ash trees. No rest for the weary! #fieldstoneartistry #equipment #safetyfirst #ash #hustle

Floating This custom console was delivered last weekend. It’s design fits squarely in the aesthetic that I have gravitated to in recent years. Multiple spaces for use of varying size, separation between elements with open space and multiple materials used in a singular form. While I still struggle to simplify my pieces further, this one has checked the boxes. #fieldstoneartistry #concrete #console #newdesign #commission #delivery

Obsession I’ve found that I often focus on the smallest details on a piece. Precise drawer spacing, clocked screws, even grain matching across panels that are never seen by the client. Some might consider this obsession (or insanity), but I know it is what keeps me going on projects. This piece isn’t a tour de force of design, but I can find solace in the attention to detail. #fieldstoneartistry #obsession #detail #focus #clean #mahogany #desk

The same, but different Last spring I built this small dovetailed Bokkusu Vase for Mother’s Day, and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I am considering producing a short run of these in walnut and maple to gauge interest. Thoughts? #fieldstoneartistry #vase #ikebana #mothersday #gift #walnut
