Is the University of Maryland (UMD) test-optional and, if so, what does test-optional mean? YES. In recognition of the ongoing COVID-19 impacts on our prospective students, UMD has decided to extend its practice to make SAT and ACT scores optional for the Spring and Fall of 2022 and 2023 application cycles. Applicants for these semesters have the option of choosing whether to submit an SAT/ACT score and whether those scores will be considered in the review of their application for admission.

I agree that creating a resume is an excellent idea. The student already has most of the info for the activity section of the Common App.
