Fine-n-Dandy

It's almost spring. Making drops, they conect the tap hole to the lateral lines which take the sap toward the sugar house. Pictured are the tree parts of the drop, 30 inch 5/16 tubing, a tee to connects to the lateral lines, and some form of a spout that goes into the tree, and my eyes after constructing 400 drops.

Black Friday.... Fine-n-Dandy maple will be at the craft show at the Mall in Massena. I believe there will be a nice sized group of vendors. The show starts at 9:00 in the morning. Stop by, say hello and enjoy some sweet treats.

I didn't make a point of it but the tube is placed over the seedling,and it is supported by a six ft. Plastic post.

Deer love young Maple tree buds in the winter, much more than other species of trees. I've used these growing tubes on trees I have started from seed in my veggie garden (red oak, horse chestnut, and black walnut) . You can read manufactures claims on line. They work,!! I decided to give some some two leaf sugar maple seedlings a little help with their war against the deer.

I've been a little lacks this spring with my Fine-N-Dandy posts. Thanks to my faithful my customers and a long season, I'd say I had a pretty good season. Don't forget we are making our products right up next spring. We will opening stainless steel barrows and canning syrup all year.
