First Acoustics

One year ago tonight, we hosted our last First Acoustics House Concert. Joe Iadanza performed a full show, although only one of the reserved guests showed up. There were subway troubles that night, so we weren’t sure if people were staying away because of COVID, or if they just couldn’t get there. Joe, along with Carolann Solebello, turned what could have been a miserable night, into a lovely private party for that one guest, and our crew of volunteers. We’re not quite sure what the new First Acoustics will look like, but we’re looking forward to sharing music with you again, very soon.

As we’ve made the sad decision to close First Acoustics for the remainder of the 2019/20 season, we feel a need to look ahead to what might work for us in the future. Your thoughts are more than welcome. Hi Musicians, Let’s talk about what will happen with House Concerts after the restrictions are lifted. Will it be financially worthwhile for you to perform at First Acoustics if we have to reduce our capacity for safety reasons?... Hi Guests, With how many other folks would you feel comfortable sharing space in our home?

My thoughts may be clouded by the fact that I've been sick with the virus for a very long time, but I'm having trouble imaging the future of House Concerts in the age of Covid 19. Positive thoughts would be most welcome right now.
