Tyelise Nelson joined the AHLF/FISLL Team in 2011 as an Event Manager specifically contracted to assist in the coordination and management of our 5-Borough Celebrity Basketball Tour. Since then, Tye (as we call her) has led many Allan Houston Legacy Foundation/FISLL events and projects and today is our Communications and Marketing Lead/Consultant. Tyelise provides strategic counsel to specific accounts and advises on digital/social campaigns and tactics. In addition, she lead...s marketing campaigns, arranges appearances and assists in elevating the FISLL Brand. Full-time, she works as the Owner/Founder of iAdonia, LLC, a a full-service PR, Marketing, and Event Production company based in both NYC and Charlotte, NC. Here she has coordinated and managed a multitude of events large and small, and in all aspects of event production, public relations and management from beginning to end for other high-profile clients, athletes and Fortune 500 companies. In addition, she has created and implemented successful marketing strategies for numerous companies, firms and brands throughout the nation. Tyelise received her Bachelor’s and Masters degrees from Mercy College, and is diligently working towards completing coursework to obtain her Doctorate degree from Walden University. Brandi Hunter found out about the work Coach Barry Woods was doing through the Stamford AHMI (Allan Houston Mentoring Initiative) from another Mom at what they named the Mother’s Circle. This circle consists of Mothers in their community who were deeply involved in the safety, encouragement and progression of not just their own children, but all children. At the time, her son Austin was struggling with personal challenges and behavioral issues at school. She and her husban...d were struggling to get through to him and needed help. She immediately enrolled Austin into the AHMI program and immediately noticed a change in his attitude and behavior. Through the mentoring of Coach Woods, encouragement and accountability from the other youth participants, and tough love, Austin doesn’t just talk about being a leader, he IS a leader. The change in her son moved Brandi to want to do even more - becoming not only an active participant in her own son’s life, but a FISLL Mom to ALL of the children in her community. She’s involved in our Teen Talks and makes sure she is heard on every call and at every meeting. Brandi coordinates our FISLL parents meetings and is always willing to do whatever is necessary to spread the word about living a FISLL life.
