"It wasn’t until I moved to the mountains of Colorado to pursue a passionate career in snowboarding and photography that I discovered my personal meaning of nature." - Chad Otterstrom As a Fjällräven guide, Chad displays his photo work around the city of Denver and Summit County. Through Chad's images, he tells stories of the beauty and vastness where nature reminds us to make sustainable decisions. He offers landscape photography workshops, as well as classes and how-to-manu...als on what to pack on trips while shooting in the mountains of Colorado and beyond. Whether trailside or next to a glacier, we have always enjoyed eating outside. There is something special about having a meal in nature. This year more people than ever are having meals outside. Nature brings comfort in isolating times. We want to provide a connection to nature, even when we might not be able to go out in nature during this isolating COVID time. Fjällräven is gifting 325 children and their families at Seattle Children's Hospital each a colorful Kånken backpack with a handwritten note, to bring comfort, hope and a connection to nature during their time at the hospital. ... For all the Seattle Children's Hospital employees we offer our deep gratitude and acknowledge their bravery and dedication during the pandemic and each and every day. We will offer them a 40% off discount through our "Friends of Fjällräven" program. If you can, we encourage you to help someone in your community during this time of giving. Every contribution, big or small, will truly make a difference. To learn more about Seattle Children's Hospital, follow them www.seattlechildrens.org

The arctic fox is a symbol for our efforts to protect nature and support initiatives that have the same goal. This year our Arctic Fox Initiative is supporting these three great organizations: The Arctic Fox Conservation Project by WWF Finland focused on establishing new and maintaining arctic fox feeding stations and training for volunteers to survey the population. School Hiking Guides by the German Ramblers Association supports education and the promotion of outdoor... activities as part of the national curriculum for children and adolescents. and Power to Be, a Canadian based organization that helps bring inclusivity to experiencing adventure and being in nature by providing support to those with cognitive, physical, or any other kind of barrier Read more here: bit.ly/3gWTXcI

Necessity is often the mother of invention. Fjällräven’s founder, Åke Nordin, was in a bivouac on the barren mountain plateau of Abisko in Sweden’s far north, enduring an unbearably cold and windy night. He decided to never feel cold again and launched the now iconic Expedition Down Jacket. Over the next 40 years, the Fjällräven Expedition Down Jacket has been used by Swedish Polar Research Secretariat expeditions in the South Pole and Greenland. It has warmed sled dog drivers high in the Arctic Circle and rock climbers at Himalayan base camps. It was even popular in the fashionable district of Metropolitan Stockholm.
