Flatbush Library 16.05.2021

Itching to write a song but don't know where to start? In this workshop, students will be able to craft a fully produced song from scratch! In hour one, students will be introduced to Soundtrap, a free online digital audio workstation empowering each participant to craft a musical landscape and record vocal melodies. In the second hour, students will be guided through creating meaningful lyrics, and compose common pop music song structures, enabling them to complete their... own song! Recommended for kids and teens aged 12-16. Participants will receive a Zoom link to their registered email shortly before the start of the program. Please keep an eye out for it and remember to check your spam folder! https://www.bklynlibrary.org//songwriters-studio-virtual-2

Have you heard of Maya Plisetskaya, Russian ballerina extraordinaire? Well, after this session, you'll know all about her! Learn about her tough childhood, growing up as a child of an enemy of the state, and how she still rose to the top of her world to influence dancers across the globe. Then we'll explore our dance skills by learning some of her signature moves and creating our own Maya-inspired choreographies. In English and Russian, with Tatyana Kot. No dance experien...ce needed. Program will be on Zoom. Registration required. https://www.bklynlibrary.org//maya-plisetskaya-rebel-virtu
