Flying Colors Ballooning

We flew last night! You never know when the weather gives you a window of opportunity! Awesome flight from Dansville to near Naples. We're still booking flights through the end of September and weekends in October for those fall foliage flights. Flying the Letchworth gorge

Since Sunday, August 26th, we had to cancel our evening balloon rides every day. The weather has not cooperated to allow us to do balloon flights safely. That trend seems to be continuing tonight with the elevated breezes and approaching t-storms overnight into tomorrow. Thank you for your patience as we continue to deal with the adverse weather. It has been a challenging summer for us but we're optimistic for the balance of this season and next!

Without question, this has been the most challenging summer for hot air balloonists in the northeast. Cold front after cold front the rains come. Troughs have a way of ruining what otherwise would have been a great evening to fly. We appreciate everyone's patience as we try to get your rides completed. We're just a frustrated as you! We have a couple months yet before the balloon is put away. Let's be optimistic that we can see more of this during that time. (Dansville, NY 2005)

Just like many of you, we are waiting patiently for spring to arrive. Winter is stubbornly holding on, but a sure sign of things to come is the time change on Sunday. Our balloon has been tucked away since annual inspection in October and is ready to go at a moments notice. Over the winter, pilot Damon Flick has embarked on receiving more aviation training in single engine aircraft. While the two ratings (balloons and aircraft) are wildly different, they share many attributes - attention to safety, weather, and the federal regulations regarding flight. To the hundreds of fine folks that have safely rode with us, thank you once again. Our biggest joy is to give the experience of hot air ballooning to people, and we can't wait to see you on a flight this summer!
