‘Nature is better when we’re all together, The wolf howl sings and we circle up. Down in the trees... where the Earth breathes. We quiet down with the cicada call. Nature is better when we’re all together. We have fun in the sun. We laugh and play and run. Nature is better when we’re all together. We share gratitude for one another and with each other. We sing nature songs in the sunlit fields. Nature is better when we’re all together.’ Sadie V., FOREST, age 8 See more
We don’t see our students as future earth tenders, we see them as stewards today: through the respect, care, and thanks they practice. For that, we feel hopeful
Today Wild Ways Teens kicked off the Great Butter Battle, in which two teams competed to produce Leek Butter the fastest. Each team circled up and passed the jar of cream and Leeks- shaking it with every ounce of their being until delicious Leek butter was made. They alternated with loud bouts of chanting their favorite butter making chants, and Josh lost $5 dollars to Raven when the Coyotes beat the Foxes squarely in the contest. Such fun!
Last Saturday at the Cobble was beautiful with so much to see. At the top of Hurlberts Hill, there were families of swallows darting and dancing in the sky. We all warmed ourselves in the sun at the top of the hill, while down by the Housatonic River, folks discovered the giant cottonwood tree and 10 turtles all lined up on a log sunning themselves. The day filled all of us with new sights and experiences.
Check out tomorrow's event with The Sanctuary for Independent Media ! Meet Sachem HawkStorm, hereditary sachem (chief) of the Schaghticoke People, youth water justice advocates and Heather Bruegl is the Director of Cultural Affairs for the Stockbridge Munsee Community.
That’s a wrap for fall programs. Bring on the snow and winter fun!
Spaces available for this awesome collaboration we are so happy to be part of!
Last day! We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and now we’re just $1,000 away from meeting our $10,000 matching gift challenge! Help us make the last push!
Almost there! We’re halfway to meeting our $10,000 matching gift challenge!! We only have until tomorrow: Your donation today will have double the impact!
Here’s Devin singing and celebrating the summer’s first campers after months of being virtual! Today we’re also celebrating an exciting opportunity and asking for your help: Until Thursday, your end-of-year gift will go twice as far! Help us match a $10,000 donation to fund our work! That means more financial aid, more hours of joyful learning outdoors, and hopefully more songs from Devin! Donate here: https://bit.ly/3n31zN8
