Join our Earth Day webinar! On April 22, our panelists discuss best practices for specifying sustainable and healthy materials. (Sign up here: https://bit.ly/3anzbRf) In 2020, carbon in the atmosphere had reached 415 parts per million, up from 280 PPM in 1937. During the same period, the remaining wilderness has gone down to 35%, from 66%. As designers, architects, and builders who help shape the world for future generations, specifying sustainable materials is one way we can... do our part. Governments are also offering financial incentives for sustainable buildings -- a benefit owners are increasingly requiring. Learn: - How to build a healthier and more sustainable materials library - Requirements for different levels of LEED certification - How sustainable materials save money in the long run - And much, much more! Stay for a live Q&A! Sign up here: https://bit.ly/3anzbRf

Institutional clients without formal design standards use drawings from previous projects as examples of desired outcomes, or specifications from similar work that exemplifies certain requirements. Similarly, design firms mine their own reservoir of details or specs from comparable projects in order to expedite documentation and avoid reinventing the wheel each time. https://bit.ly/39KOIdD #designstandards #ffe #specification #ffespecification #standardization

An innate problem with scale is that the bigger you grow, the harder it is to control your projects. Errors multiply. Delays snowball. You can manage this with approval checkpoints. https://bit.ly/3f8fpg4 #specification #FF&E #design #build #construction

If your FF&E specification software isn't much better than a free spreadsheet, should you be paying for it (in more ways than one)? https://bit.ly/3vqkHZM #ffe #specification #construction #procurement #hospitalitydesign #design

If you're still manually copying and pasting products or tracking projects in messy Excel sheets, you're getting left behind. We're not trying to reinvent the wheel -- but more can and should be done to shave off inefficiencies in the design and construction process. https://bit.ly/3eoK8Fd #design #construction #specification #ffe
