Montgomery County Public Health Covid-19 update January 25.
Let's start Taking 5 for NY again! The county-wide campaign launched in the spring in an effort to encourage Montgomery County residents to take five minutes ou...t of each day to call a friend, loved one, or acquaintance who may be alone and feeling isolated during this period of social distancing. We are calling on our residents to take just five minutes of each day to call a loved one, friend, neighbor, acquaintance to say hi and check on them, County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said. We understand that with social distancing in full force, people may be feeling lonely, especially our senior population. Taking five minutes can make a huge difference during this difficult time. Throughout this pandemic we have emphasized the importance of trying to remain healthy and mental health is an important piece of that, County Public and Mental Health Director Sara Boerenko said. Our daily lives have been disrupted, causing stress and anxiety for many. Please consider taking five minutes to give someone you know a call, it might be a mood booster for you as well. Please share with us when you #Take5ForNY #StrongerTogether #MontgomeryCounty

Creosote accumulation is the leading cause of chimney fires. Nearly all residential fires originating in the chimney are preventable. An annual chimney inspection by a qualified sweep can help prevent fire or CO poisoning. #firepreventionfriday #publicsafety

The Village of Fort Plain Trick or Treat will be Saturday October 31, from 6-7:30 PM. After careful consideration the Fire Department has made the difficult decision to not hold a parade this year, keeping everyone’s health and safety a top priority. We instead will provide treats pre-bagged out in front of our station during the trick or treat hours. Feel free to stop by and help yourself to one. ... Thank you for your understanding. Have a safe and Happy Halloween. Thank you!
