As you may recall, the Fort Plain PBA had the honor of donating money to "Cops for Kids with Cancer" earlier this year after having been contacted by Colleen Thompson. Colleen runs in marathons across the country supporting Cops for Kids and raising money along the way to aid families with the expensive costs of cancer treatment. Colleen was set to run in the 124th annual Boston Marathon back in April. Unfortunately like many events, the Boston Marathon was cancelled due to Covid-19 and rescheduled to take place in September. The Marathon however, ended up being cancelled altogether with the option to run the 26.2 mile race virtually. Colleen completed her virtual race on September 14th and had shared her experiences with us in the letter below.

The Fort Plain Police Benevolent Association recently pledged $100.00 to the Harry Hoag Elementary Schools "Ice Cream Account." This account is used to purchase ice cream for children at the Elementary School who do not have the means necessary to purchase ice cream for themselves. This donation will go directly towards providing the children with an extra treat during lunch.
