Ok so this is not a dog I groomed but it’s similar to a dog that was brought in to me. Please, please,please take your puppies to a groomer starting around 4 months old. The dog that came to me was well over a year old and have never been groomed. It was so terrifying and horrible for the little guy that I could not finish. Anyone who knows me know I just don’t give up on any dog. But this poor little fella was going to have a heart attack and die on my table due to the stres...s and pain of the grooming process and mats. Removing mats like this are extremely painful. Plus he had never had a grooming experience. So everything was new to him. He thrashed, pooped, peed, and screamed. I calmed him down and called the owners. They came to get them and I let them know that most likely he was traumatized from this and the needed to be put out to have this taken care of. I educated them on how inhumane it is to do this to an animal along with the health issues that can arise from the mats being so close to the skin. Please I beg u people when u get a puppy to please be responsible and take it to a groomer at a young age. If this dog had been going right along he would have left happy and healthy. My heart broke for the little guy. Some breeders also don’t tell u that certain breeds need to be groomed but common sense says that this type of thing just isn’t right. Please share! See more

Good morning pet lovers! In February it will be my 1 year anniversary of being on my own! My goal from now till then is to open a small retail space so that I can have some things pet related to sell! I would like some input on what my customers might like to see in there?
