The dandelions have officially popped, giving the honeybees some much needed food source while the rest of our native spring flowers catch up. While your probably thinking- Dandelions = BAD, these are a pretty crucial piece of our ecosystem at this point in the year, especially for the bees as we slooowwwllyyy creep out of winter and into SPRING!

We spotted this little coyote in the field this morning hunting for field mice beneath the snow. While we have a deer fence surrounding the field to keep most of the bigger creatures from feasting on our veggies, coyotes and foxes slip beneath gaps around the waterways to hunt in the grasses. We don’t mind! ...this was their home looong before we got here.

The honeybees are hunkered down for the winter, with a fresh blanket of snow to make it cozy.
