An article that supports why our mission of providing financial support and guidance to promote the academic, artistic and humanistic success of School of the Arts’ students is so important!
For the first time in school history, SOTA is the Rochester Regional Chess Champion! Congratulations to Mr. Lanik and the starting squad of Dale Janezic, Paz Cherelin, Franklin Jones, Lindon Burack and Harrison Jurenko. In a field of twenty teams, SOTA players went 24-1 to win it all this past Saturday.
Get your tickets for "Rent" - coming up this week: https://tickets.vendini.com/ticket-software.html Set in the East Village, this groundbreaking musical tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. It explores falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today. This Tony Award-winning, pop-culture phenomenon rocks with exuberant songs, and a compelling story.
SOTA's Black History Concert was cancelled last month due to inclement weather - but is on TONIGHT - 3/5. Come to the Allen Main Stage at 7:00 for what is always an excellent event. It is a mix of music and inspirational readings and is well done. Let's get some people out to hear these wonderful students!
Please help with Friends of SOTA's annual appeal. We need your support to fund programs that help SOTA students in every grade and major. You can contribute via the mail or online at friendsofsota.org/donate
