Here’s the setting we played of A Mighty Fortress Is Our God, arranged by Jon Madden, Rochester native and Music Director at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pittsford. It features singers from a number of area Lutheran churches, including Messiah where Pastor Debbie’s husband is the Music Director. Willie and their son Andrew can be seen in this virtual choir. Thanks to the choir directors who prepared their singers virtually. Thanks to Jon also for preparing the necessary sound files so singers could record and for editing this wonderful final product together! https://youtu.be/z0e6MeHom7I
Thanks for your patience about online worship from the sanctuary in-person. We learned a great many things this morning that will make next week smoother.
Rustling leaves are nice but not when recording a worship service. Sorry to those who couldn’t hear this morning! It will be better next week. Stay tuned for what the plans will be!Rustling leaves are nice but not when recording a worship service. Sorry to those who couldn’t hear this morning! It will be better next week. Manna in the wilderness. When we stand betwixt and between times, when we pine for the past and can't see what's ahead, God meets us at that threshold so that we can face the unknown.

"Let my people go!" says God through Moses to the Egyptian Pharaoh. God is about liberating, freeing, making a way out of no way, and getting people out the boxes they are stuck in. Where do you feel stuck in a box of limitations with no options? Come hear this week's Lesson from the Wilderness. Compelling music from Alan Murphy moves the worship experience.
Powerful words for all of us from the Episcopalian Bishop of Rochester, the Rt. Rev. Prince Singh. Daniel Prude had a major issue. He was Black. He was also mentally ill. He embodied a major issue of us all: he was Black and that is a moral health issue in our society. Until we tackle that moral health issue, we won’t heal.
Lessons from the Israelites in Egypt for our uncertain, disorienting time. Marimba music offered by Andrew La Favor.
