I am a little bit late, but I wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone for the birthday wishes! I am blessed to have made it to 22. 21 was an amazing yet crazy year for me. This year has been about growth and following dreams I dreamt as a kid. Right after turning 21 I took my first trip to New York. When I got back to Denver I told my mom that I was planning on moving. There is so much that went on behind the scenes of "Social Media". Long days working the Graphic Des...ign position I held at Santiago's and late nights driving for Lyft. I was doing everything in my power to make New York happen. I finally made the move in August and shared a bedroom in an Airbnb with my best friend Lucas. The room had a bed and couch. I, for whatever reason, really like sleeping on couches and took that for majority of the 2 1/2 months we stood there. Being nearly 1,700 miles away from home has not been easy, let me tell you. People always ask if I like it and of course I like it. I am living my dreams! But! There are times where I do miss my family and friends back home. I am constantly reminding myself that things will get tough and thats alright! But! What keeps me going is that there is always a crazier story. No matter what your hardship and struggle may be, there is someone who has overcome more. That idea is there to inspire you! When you feel alone in your experiences, know there is someone who has been through what you feel. Anything is possible! A month ago, I found myself back in Denver with my family as we spent time to be with my Grandfather in his final days. While going through that I didn't know if I wanted to come back to New York. I knew I couldn't give up though, that is not what my grandfather would want and ultimately that is not what I want either. Two weeks after his funeral, Lucas and I found our apartment in Brooklyn. Now, I am living in New York chasing my dreams. It is not always going to be easy... But, the story has nearly just began. Thank you and goodbye to 21! I want to thank everyone who has been a part of my life and my journey in the past year of my life. You all mean the world to me. See more
