Weeks ago I posted a picture of a young girl who adopted a 20 yr old cat from a shelter. That post got more shares than all the postings I’ve ever done combine...d and had such a positive reaction. Since that posting I’ve had more requests to rehome people’s cats than people looking to foster or adopt. Let’s change that. Mo and Tiger are at the Manhattan city shelter waiting for a new home. Owners not sure of exact age but the shelter ages them 17-20 years old. The family has experienced some deaths in their family and felt they emotionally and financially could no longer care for the cats. For all those people looking for kittens think about these seniors. There will always be kittens why not give these cats the best end of their lives they can have. Look at those faces. Call the Manhattan city shelter or get in touch with us. Text or call Frankie’s feline fund 917-514-0228 or email [email protected]. Great news. Shelter just let me know these girls have placement. Hopefully they will get a forever home together.

I didn’t get up this morning planning on writing this post but I feel compelled to do it. I sit here in tears. Tears of sadness but mostly tears of frustratio...n. I created Frankie’s Feline Fund 12 years ago to try to help the most forgotten group of kitties, seniors and diabetics. I’ve watched the ASPCA open a whole facility for kittens. Hundreds if not thousands of kittens are saved every kitten season just by them. All this while the seniors sit and wait. North Shore Animal League gets thousands of dollars from the likes of Rachael Ray and Beth Stern and friends to build a new cat habitat. Tell me what North Shore does to help the animals of New York?Even the cats who were adopted from them. I’m not trying to pit kittens against seniors. This is why there’s chocolate and vanilla. I’m just presenting facts. Dog people will race to save puppy mill dogs. Dogs with medical needs. Dogs that need lots of socialization. Some never recovering from years of abuse. A senior cat has a thyroid condition and deemed unadoptable. Sorry cat lovers I face this all the time. There will never be enough homes for all the cats that need homes but no one seems to want to try to help. Hello ASPCA. Hello Bide a Wee. There are plenty of empty buildings in the city. Better yet empty hotels. That means rooms where animals could be housed. Ballrooms turned into an animal hospital. Jobs created. Rescues if they want to get involved. Give a rescue group a floor. Best Little Senior Cathouse in New York. I don’t know how to make something go viral. I wish I did. All I know is something needs to be done. Maybe we could get animal planet or hgtv involved with some extreme makeover people. Be the blueprint for the rest of the country. Would be nice to see something being built in Manhattan other than a luxury high rise. I apologize for the length of this rant. See more

This story is really getting old. Someone has a cat for almost 12 years and now has no time. We all know how much time it takes to take care of a cat. Almost ...none. The owner states Jesse loves to cuddle. Follows the owner around when home. Stays in the same room. Sounds like a super cat. So why is he now sitting in a cage in the Brooklyn city shelter you ask? According to the shelter it appears he’s possibly diabetic. Dehydrated. Muscle wasted and matted. Many times just by changing diet they can reverse. Seems owner fed both wet and dry food. Wish people would understand how bad dry food is. I know many people free feed dry and their cats are fine. You’re lucky. Jesse isn’t. Jesse needs an angel. I’ll pull him. Provide all the supplies. If you’ve had a diabetic before great if not I can train. Helps if you’re in Manhattan but any borough will do. Anyone in Jersey with experience also ok. Look at this kitty. He deserves more than what just happened to him. Call or text Frankie’s feline fund 917-514-0228 or email [email protected]. Update. There seems to be some confusion. I can’t pull this cat without a foster home. He’s still at the shelter. Call or text me like the posting says. Please don’t leave messages on this posting I don’t check FB all the time
