Today is National Sustainability Day, which seems like a great time to share some fun stats with you! Did you know that the U.S. dairy industry has recently se...t a goal to be carbon neutral or better by 2050?! Already in the last 10 years the carbon footprint of one gallon of milk is 19% less than it was a decade ago. There's so much recycling that takes place on the farm, both with water and nutrients , along with careful care of our soils through advancing practices in the field . And we can't forget green energy being produced on dairy farms! For our farm, our methane digester is producing biogas that can be used in place of natural gas as a green energy source. As farmers, we're committed to continuing to learn and work to improve our farm operations for future generations.
