This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you to every single Racker teacher, therapist, and staff that have adapted to constantly shifting pandemic guidelines while continuing to provide first rate support, education, and love to our preschoolers. Below is a quote from Anne, our Clinical Director, on why she is thankful for her incredible staff: I am so grateful to our teaching staff and our therapy teams. This has been an unprecedented year with unprecedented demand...s. Despite these challenges, our teams continue to work together and collaborate for the children we service. Because of that we have seen beautiful growth in our children. Our kids have been able to increase their level and ability to communicate, they are playing and socializing with peers, they have gotten stronger, and they have shown improvements in body awareness and regulation. I heard a recent story from a therapist who remarked about a session when a child said the therapist's name for the first time in 2 years! Another therapist shared a story of a child who is now able to tolerate teeth brushing and detailed all the hard work and collaboration that went into making that possible. A family shared their appreciation and amazement about their child's increased willingness to participate in mealtime and try different foods. The work you do isn't easy. But the relationships that you all have made with these children will create a ripple effect that they will carry with them throughout their life. You should be proud of the work you do. To close out Autism Acceptance and Appreciation Month, we wanted to continue amplifying the voices and talents of autistic people. Today, we are excited to share a selection of artwork from our inclusive preschools. This artwork comes from the Partnership Program classrooms in Ithaca and Cortland, and we love to see the creativity from all of our preschool students!
