Department Drill tonight was using our new battery powered rescue tools made by Hurst the department recently received. We recieved a spreader, cutter and a ram. Extra batteries came with them, each battery is good for about 25 cuts. We also have an adapter that allows us to plug the tools into a generator if needed. A representative of Hurst rescue tools was on hand to provide instruction. Hurst rescue tools are commonly known as "the jaws of life." Members of the Fredonia Fire Dept have had their covid vaccination shots. Thank you to Ellman's Garage of Dunkirk who provided the cars. Fredonia Fire has been using the hydraulic version of the Hurst Rescue tool for decades.
