Freedom Motorsports Park 04.06.2021

As we are less than 3 weeks away from our Opening Night on May 14th we wanted to remind all drivers in ALL classes (late model, sportsman, street stock, econo/pro mod, mini stock and bandit) that transponders are MANDATORY for this year's race season. Check your class rules for proper placement. If you are coming out to test and tune on May 7th you will be able to make sure your transponder is in good working order and get established in our system. We look forward to seeing everyone and getting the 2021 race season started!

Well we are just about a month away from being on track. We had an employee meeting this morning that went well. We are tying things up to get ready. The main focus was saving time for the extra class (pro-mod/econo-mod) as we have a town wide noise curfew. We will be moving the shows along faster which in turn means there will be new rules on hot pits and getting cars on the track in a more timely manner. With that being said, there will be a few upgrades that will be happen...ing in the pit area such as speakers down below to better hear the pit stand announcements, as well a a few others to just make things run more smooth for everyone. We also have made a point to say that ALL classes need to have transponders, including mini stocks! We plan to have practice May 7, weather permitting. Tech will be open and we ask to bring your transponders as well, to test them out as well and get the numbers in our system ahead of time. Opening night will be May 14. Our updated schedule is on our website as well as a couple posts below this one. As of now, there is no intentions of having any enduros this year, but that may change throughout the season. If there is any tech questions, please contact Tom at MHL Performance. If there are any other questions, please contact us via direct message or email us at [email protected]. See more

We are going to make a small adjustment to the 2021 schedule. The weekend of May 7th 8th and 9th we are going to put a practice together as we neglected to put one on the schedule.more details to follow whether it's going to be on Friday or actually on the weekend we will let you know soon. That means our opening night is actually going to be May 14th. We got a bunch of competitors ask about a practice and being that we haven't turned a wheel on the track since September of 2019 and it has new Clay on it we feel that we need to do this. As of right now we have all intentions of opening on time.....Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

It's with great sadness we have learned of the passing of Ray Whitwood due to complications from covid19. Ray was known by most in the pit area as someone who would always lend a hand when needed. He had spent countless hours with us on track prep, water truck , tractor, pack truck, even building the tech barn with Andy, whatever was needed, and always with a big smile on his face. He truly was one of the nicest people I have ever met.... If the world had a few more Rays, it ...would be a far better place.... Rest easy Ray... Our condolences go out to the family . Please, please, everyone take caution and stay safe until this horrible virus runs it's course. We want to see everyone at the track this year happy, healthy, ...and racing.

Attention mini stock drivers!! With the 2020 racing season coming to a close, and build season beginning we would like to release the 2021 season mini stock rules. As the continuing trend in the mini stock world, we will be switching over to SCDRA rules, with a few exceptions. As most of you already have a cold air kit, and some of you run beadlocks, we will allow these for weekly competition. These will not be allowed at any sanctioned SCDRA event, whether it be at Freedom or any other track. Track management has made the decision to drop the RWD mini stocks from the format. Anyone looking to discuss these, or any other rules questions please contact Thomas Gregory via text at 585-356-4366 or through facebook messenger. Thank you, and we hope to see you all next season.

Our 2021 schedule is starting to take shape. The first announcement we would like to make is that the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint tour will be making an appearance on July 16th along with the New York 6A mini sprints. As in our 2019 edition we will also have the match race between the top New York 6A and the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint top three in points in a match race in mini sprints. The 2019 edition of that race was won by Chuck Hebing as he had to pit and come from the rear and still took the win! Additional classes will also join the competition on that night and are yet to be determined. Stay tuned for a tentative schedule of all the 2021 events coming shortly! Hopefully all venues in New York will be able to shake the restrictions and get back to racing!

Freedom Motorsports Park 21.12.2020

Just wanted to update everyone this morning on our plans for the 2021 season.... in 2021 we will be running the same program that we had planned on running in 2020 with Super late models being the headliner, Dirtcar sportsman, Economod/pro mod ,Street stocks , Mini stocks and of course the bandit kids. We plan on having our schedule roughed out and posted tentative within the next few weeks. Many of our great sponsors that we have had over the years will be plugged into their... appropriate weekends during the 2021 season as they have shown us great support during this time of pandemic. Most of our pit spots up on the top area had been sold for 2020 and they will remain in the hands of the teams that had rented them in the 2021 season.(although there will be still a few available email for info). Our schedule will be much like the one that we had planned for 2020. The rules for the classes will remain unchanged as we have them planned for 2020 with possibly the exception of using scdra rules for the mini stocks which we are in discussions about right now. (Not etched in stone but a possibility). Anybody that wishes to get a car prepared for next year our rules are on our website and any questions can be directed to our head tech guy Tom Gregory at MHL Performance. This has been a trying time for us and we are hoping just to push through get the election behind us, get a vaccine, and get back to what we are used to which is being at the racetrack on Friday night without any restrictions. As always any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to us and we will keep you updated as the news changes. See more
