Stripers open April 15, this Thursday .

Old School Fisherman reports great success at Magnolia Pier in Long Beach catching Herring. He said the Sabiki rigs worked really well and he was pulling in multiple fish at a time! Other anglers report Schoolie Stripers are appearing at Magnolia and Jamaica Bay, as well as some of the beaches at Jones.

Plugs, diamond jigs, Bucktails, blackfish jigs- in plentiful assortments

The Fall Run is here! Come in for umbrella rigs, mojos, bunker spoons, and plugs. Also in stock fresh bait- clams, bunker, live eels , blood worms daily. Black fish are abundant near the bridges and reefs and are hitting hard on green crabs and white crabs. We have an awesome selection of tackle for all the current species.

Capt Billy Webster brought in a mess of green Spanish Mack’s weighing in at 1.35-1.5 lbs. beautiful fish!

From Capt Ray Carolann Charters: Limited out on most of 7 trips this week on Seabass ro 4lbs, fluke to 5lbs, with fluke really heating up on the AB Reef. Mixed bag with porgy, Ling, chubs, Seabass, fluke, and Spanish Mackerel , puffers, albies, and bonito. Capt Ray reports that seeing the bonito here now means we’re close to the fall monster mako season. Also seen 200 lb class bluefins chasing the Mack’s in 80’ depths in early am. Great report! FYI the fisherman magazine is only printing monthly issues at this time. If you have a subscription, you can read about this in the note from the publisher in the April issue. The other weekly issues are still being written but are only available to read on line .

As always we are fully stocked with bait and tackle. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing- at least 6 feet - it’s the law. Thank you ! Fishing reports are good so we hope you will be able to get out there .

Please call ahead for curbside pick up only. We are required by the Governor’s mandate to keep the store closed but we are allowed to accept phone orders and outdoor pick up.

Night Fishing Permits The deadline to obtain night fishing permits is quickly approaching. The date is March 31. After this you won't be able to obtain these permits until after Labor Day. You can get them at the Jones Beach Park Office, for $35.00.
