Are you trying to create healthier habits, like I am? Check out these cool tips from author Gretchen Rubin @gretchenrubin that I'm working on. **One of the best times to try a new habit is with a "clean slate"--a new year, a new house, a Monday, etc--I'm going to try to use the first CSA pick-up May 13, as my "clean slate" for eating all of the veggies I bring home. **To set myself up for success I'll use the strategy of "convenience" by making it easier to do what I want t...o accomplish: I have a clean counter with my knives, salad spinner, cutting board, storage containers, and sheet pan. As soon as I get home on Thursdays with my veggies, I'm going to cut them up. I'll either roast them all on a sheet pan, have a salad-buffet, or make a big crudite board for dinner. Anything that doesn't get eaten immediately goes into the fridge in my storage containers. **I'm going to try to use the "Piggyback" strategy to add three more habits to Thursday night--1)to sharpen my knife really quick before veggie prep and wash it immediately after 2) using leftover veggies to pack lunches in the containers I have ready and 3) to take any food waste out to the compost pile. Pairing good habits together is supposed to make them easier to do. And now that I've told YOU, that's the strategy of "accountability"! You can poke me any time to see if I'm sliding into any of my bad farmer habits of taking veggies home and not making time to eat them. What about you, any good tips for helping habits stick?
