We're having a yard sale! Saturday, May 22, from 9 am-2 pm (rain date May 23). Stop by and shop, or rent a space for yourself. 10 x 10 spaces just $15, and all proceeds (as always!) go to the renovations at the Old School. A flyer with all details, including how to reserve and pay for a space, will be coming soon. PM, leave a comment, or email us at [email protected] to be added to the list for more info! https://www.facebook.com/events/158017542906011

Look at this gorgeous framed local map Laura Bendlin had made from some of the old gym floor planks! Anyone else a woodworker who’d like to try their hand? We do still have wood pieces available!

Today, we are discouraged. We are a small group of volunteers. Most of us have full-time jobs, outside of the work we do for the Old School. We joined this board of directors because we believe in this community, and because so many of you supported keeping this building in the village and renovating it so new generations of people could make memories within its walls and on its grounds. But when we spend hours upon hours and much of our own money on repairs, it is beyond d...iscouraging when we find vandalism here. It's already frustrating when grant funding is held up because of governmental red tape, or when our C.O. is delayed because of another need for amended zoning language, or when people drive their cars and quads across the ballfield or walk their dogs on our lawn and leave the waste behind. But when someone deliberately damages our property, spray paints our building, or pulls up stakes in the ground where we are laying memorial bricks, it sets us back further. We need your help. Though we had other plans for today's Work Day, we spent most of the day upgrading our security system and installing multiple new exterior cameras. Please help be our eyes and ears when we are not here. Report suspicious behavior to us or to the police. Share our posts and spread the word that criminal mischief like this, though it may seem small, is an unnecessary and disappointing setback on the road to reopening.
