May the 4th be with you! Teen Scene Staff are very excited for our Creatively Coping with Stress: Teen Scene Directed Artwork event happening TONIGHT! If you have not had the opportunity to register, it is not too late! Be prepared to create multiple Star Wars themed artwork with your supplies as you are guided by two special guest...s. This event is for both Teen Scene and Dragon Dates participants. Teen Scene is currently open to all school aged youth. Dragon Dates events are for individuals with OPWDD eligibility living in the family home in Broome, Chenango, Otsego, Delaware, Tioga or Tompkins County.

We are only a few days away from our Creatively Coping with Stress: Star Wars Directed Artwork event. We are so excited to host this Star Wars themed event on May 4th. (May the Fourth be with you!) Teen Scene staff want to send a huge thank you to Jeffrey and Chris for demonstrating how to create these delicious Wookie Cookies to go along with our event. If you are planning to attend the event on Tuesday, please consider making these cookies ahead of time! The written ingredients and instructions can be found in the description of the YouTube video.

Check out this youth theater workshop presented by the Orpheus Theatre! Youth ages 6 to 18 are able to participate in a two week theater program during July which ends with a performance. For more information on this program and the Orpheus Theatre visit: https://www.orpheustheatre.org/

We are so excited for our second guest instructors of the month! Levi and Brooke will be will be guiding youth through the basics of stretching, breathing, the tenets of Taekwondo and the proper form for punching and kicking. Levi is a former Taekwondo student and is excited to help youth learn more about the martial art. Levi began taking Taekwondo lessons and a child to learn how to control his breathing and prevent asthma attacks. Brooke is one of our youth peer advocates and will be assisting Levi in teaching the basics of Taekwondo. If you are participating in our Family Resource Network Teen Scene Fitness Challenge don't forget to submit your t-shirt design by Friday, 01/22/2021! The prize for our 20 days of exercise is a fitness challenge champion T-shirt. We are excited to share that the design on the T-shirt will be created by one of our very own participants! After collecting all of the designs, we will have a vote to see whose design wins. Remember: The design must include: Family Resource Network Fitness Challenge 2021.
