After she was hit by a car, a Good Samaritan brought her to Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) before she was transferred into our care. Since she was in extreme ...pain, we rushed her to our emergency vet where doctors operated on Berry and monitored her for respiratory distress. Berry's condition is promising - she's taken a few steps over the last 24 hours - but she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her. She's such a sweetheart and we're making sure that Berry has all the care she needs to heal. Right now, our population is very manageable, and we have enough staff for all of the pets. HOW CAN WE HELP? We still need specific donations of toys, large/xlarge dog crates, bedding, harnesses and dog treats. No. While we always need experienced fosters for large breed dogs with a bite history or other behavior issues, we no longer need fosters for small dogs or cats!
