A Note from the Director, Dear Future Stars Family, We hope that you and your families are healthy and well. With spring finally upon us, we wanted to provide some Summer Camp updates for the 2021 season.... As you are no doubt aware, Future Stars was not able to operate on campus at The College at Old Westbury in Summer 2020, but we were able to successfully operate at some of our other locations exercising strict safety protocols and precautions. We had hoped to return to campus for Summer 2021, however with the recent announcement that the campus will be a vaccination site as part of the effort to help us get ‘back to normal’, we unfortunately won’t be able to operate on campus this summer. We do however have some exciting and positive news to share with regards to the summer; Future Stars Farmingdale will reopen for its 12th summer. Future Stars Syosset at OLMA is an exciting NEW site launching this summer. Future Stars Offsite location in the Town of North Hempstead is in the works. We are excited for the summer and will continue to strive to offer The Ultimate Summer Camp Experience for all our campers at all our locations in a safe and responsible manner. All enrollments are fully refundable through May 1, 2021 and we hope that gives our camp families confidence to register and secure their spot for the summer. A Note from the Director; 'Summer 2020 certainly was unlike any other. Future Stars had spent the entire offseason gearing up for the celebration of our ‘40th Anniversary’, as we planned once again for The Ultimate Summer Camp Experience! Like everyone else we then had to adapt to unprecedented times, and the health and safety of loved ones and our camp families became the focus. As the time passed during the spring there was uncertainty as to what the summer may look like, a...nd we received the unfortunate news in June, that even though NYS had given permission for camps to operate, the campus at The College at Old Westbury would not be open this summer. As we had the unfortunate task of informing our camp families that we wouldn’t be able to operate on campus as planned this summer, we were fortunate to be able to secure an offsite location thanks to our friends at the Plainedge Soccer Club. And so the Future Stars Offsite 2020 Programs were born, as we looked to provide a safe and welcoming environment for campers to get active, get social, and still enjoy a summer camp experience. We wanted to thank you once again for placing your trust in Future Stars this summer, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to provide our campers with a safe and enjoyable experience this summer. Future Stars put in place measures designed to protect the health and safety of the campers and staff, and we appreciated everyone’s patience and support as we navigated through these ‘new’ protocols. Even with the modified programs, activities, and challenges, it was great to still see campers with a smile on their face as they worked on growing their skills and love of the game. We hope all our campers had a positive time with us this summer, and wish them all the best for ‘back to school’ in the hope that things can get back to ‘normal’ in the school and camp worlds in the near future. Thank you once again to Plainedge Soccer Club for allowing us to host at their beautiful facility.
