Gallaghers Irish Pub- Geneva, NY 01.11.2020

Timmy Peters was one of the kindest and most loving people who passed away two years ago today. Timmy was a DeSales alum, and the co-owner of Gallagher’s Irish Pub. He was an amazing caterer, operating TJ’s Catering. Timmy was a Correction Officer for Ontario County Sherriff’s Dept for many years and worked at McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home. Timmy was a lifelong member of the Nestor Hose Company in the Geneva Fire Dept., Knights of Columbus member of the Geneva Council #272, a ...Bishop John E. McCafferty Assembly 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was well known for his talent and passion in cooking, the Hucklebuck dance, Notre Dame fan, infamous traveler to Vegas with his friends, the three-point stance in the pub, his love for his dogs and his family and well known for his (finger on his glasses while looking over them at you) great listening skills. He made so many of us laugh with his witty humor (and dance skills, with the fire helmet on and sky pilot blasting in background). For those who didn’t know Timmy on a personal level, I am very sorry. Timmy had one of the biggest hearts. He cared for so many people and always gave of himself to others. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who was in need and never hesitated to reach out and offer help even to strangers. Timmy had such an intense sense of empathy for people but also struggled with depression and some health issues. Timmy fought as hard as he could to get through this battle while trying to make sure others were taken care of. Unfortunately, Timmy passed away by suicide. Timmy will always be in our hearts and wouldn’t want anyone to suffer like he did. There is help out there. You are never alone. Please reach out or let someone know if you are struggling. We all are here for each other. RIP Timmy, give our friends a hug from all of us and yourself a few as well. We love you. https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ 1-800-273-8255 https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/chat/

Our freedom is not free nor should we ever forget the sacrifices our brothers and sisters made for our freedom. Let us remember and be grateful for what we have.
