Tomorrow, April 17th, we will be going live here on facebook at 11:00 to draw the winners of our annual sportsman's raffle. We hope this will be our first and last virtual drawing! We will also post the winning ticket numbers on our page after the drawing is done, and will be calling the winners to make arrangements.

The John Fiore Foundation is proud to announce that the 12th Annual John Fiore Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament Yeti of Booze Raffle will benefit one of our ...first responders...Melissa CloseFarmer. Melissa, 33, is an active Volunteer Firefighter/EMT with the Ransomville Fire Company and works at Niagara Hospice. On November 11, 2020 she was diagnosed with stage 3c cervical cancer after becoming ill at work. Following many rounds of internal and external radiation and six rounds of chemotherapy, the cancer spread to her femur then soon after, to her liver and lungs. Melissa is now undergoing another eight rounds of a more intensive chemo, losing her hair after the second round. Melissa really misses her work and her second family at the firehall. It's very difficult for me to be the one in need of help, when I have always been the one who loves to help and lend a hand to others. Tickets are $5 each and available on our website www.johnfiorefoundation.com Melissa has been there for our community, let’s be there for her.

Every day we should be thanking our Veterans, but especially today, on Veterans Day. We thank all those who have served, and we honor the sacrifices and bravery shown by all of those Men and Women in order to protect our country and our freedoms.

Unfortunately we werent able to do an in person fire prevention day this year (one of our favorite events to do!), but we were glad to make a video for the kids to show them our trucks and what we do virtually! And it sure doesnt hurt to be able to work through this with a principal as dedicated as Mrs. VanSlyke, who also happens to be a firefighter herself. Thanks to her for being able to do a small in school demonstration for the kids for us!
