On #WorldWaterDay 2021, we call attention to the value of water in our homes, our livelihoods, our well-being and our societies. To ensure the health and safety of the residents of Liberia, Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa launched its Coronavirus Outreach & Awareness Initiative (COAI) last March, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. One key measure was supplying safe drinking water to communities in and around Monrovia. We continue to recognize the different ways that water benefits our lives and ways we can safeguard it for everyone, so we can protect this vital resource. #Water2me To learn more, visit: https://www.worldwaterday.org/learn
We are super excited to share this opportunity with you. We have partnered with Mama Gena's School of Womanly Arts to host a conversation between Mama Gena herself, Regena Thomashauer, and our very own Leymah Gbowee. The Mama Gena community are raising funds to support Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa's scholarship program and there are two anonymous donors who are matching every gift, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. Every dollar makes a difference and will be matched to ins...tantly double your impact. Watch the Interview: https://vimeo.com/527104784 Donate to Dollars for Peace: http://bit.ly/MamaGenaLiberia
Today is the International Day of Happiness! What are some of the things that make you happy?
GPFA-USA congratulates the graduating class from Cuttington University in Liberia. 7 of these incredible graduates are scholars of Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa: Austine Baryo, Stiffinnie Saunders, Nancy Tulay, Josephine Gekepelee, Courage Wilson, Marianne Rennie & Jenneh S. Berry. #GboweeProud
On #IWD2021, we celebrate young women and girls each day. At GPFA-USA, the power and voice of women and girls is central to our initiatives, such as raising funds for GPFA in Liberia to provide scholarships to girls and leadership development training to youth and women. Access to education is a fundamental building block for sustainable peace and development. Quality education builds job skills for the future and plays a big role in addressing poverty at the individual and community level. We believe that women are the backbone of their communities and we proudly focus on initiatives that invest in women and girls across their lifetimes. #GboweeProud
