Our *Amazon: Perspectives and Reflection* event yesterday was a success! The Q&A session Dr. Caldas held was informative and inspiring. Dr. Caldas suggested that we, as global citizens, should engage in 1) support World Economic Forum in exerting conservation international pressure; 2) ask government to strengthen reinforcement.

There will a screening of a short documentary on the Amazon. This will be followed by a Zoom conversation with Dr. Marcellus Caldas, a Brazilian environmental geographer, who's currently at Kansas State University. Celebrate Earth Day on Monday, April 22 from 4-8pm at Everett Lounge and GDH177-179 through a series of student-led interactive booths, research presentation on TC and its environmental impact, screening of an award-winning rebuttal documentary "Behind the Cove" that tells the untold story of the whaling industry in Japan followed by a Q&A session with the film director Keiko Yagi all the way from Japan!
